Creating Demand For Renewable Power  Posted: May 23, 2006
Dear Mr. Staffieri:

I am writing as a customer of LG&E / KU, to ask that you join the 14 utilities and 4 municipalities in Kentucky that offer the option of “purchasable” alternative energy. Providing a “green power” program that would allow customers the choice of electricity from renewable sources, rather than from fossil fuel combustion, is an option that would give real meaning to the environmental stewardship commitment that LG&E/KU has made. It would also allow customers to help address global warming concerns that you have recently acknowledged to be a problem, and would encourage greater private-sector investment in development of renewable sources of power in Kentucky.
