With two dozen new electric generating plants planned around the state,the power plant boom has raised concerns about the capacity of Kentucky's system of electricity transmission lines. ''Kentucky has maintained low utility prices with a high degree of reliability, and what is happening in other states now has an effect on our system,'' said Tom FitzGerald,''One matter of concern is that we are becoming a sacrificial area for the Midwest's energy needs, and we're doing that for the benefit of the region and not for the benefit of the state,'' he said.
