Two Grant Opportunities
EPA is again offering grants for Brownfields assessment, revolving loans and cleanup, to local governments and nonprofit agencies. The deadline is November 17, 2003, and more information can be found here.
The Kentucky Division of Water has $3.5 million available for watershed restoration projects for watershed impacted by nonpoint source pollution. For more information go here. The Division of Water will be conducting workshops for those interested in applying for the 2005 grants. A schedule of the workshops is available here.
Robert Kennedy, Jr. to Speak At Festival of Faiths In November
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., will keynote the week-long 8th annual Festival of Faiths in Louisville with a keynote address on "Faith and Environmental Justice." The Festival runs from November 8 - 16 and celebrates the traditions and doctrines of many faith communities. Soil Bioengineering Workshop, Prestonsburg
Sponsored by an array of state and county agencies and consulting firms, a three-day workshop on using natural channel design, native plants and soil bioengineering for sediment and erosion control will be held in Prestonsburg, Kentucky from October 28-30. Environmental Quality Commission Public Forum & Workshop On Kid's Health
On October 16 - 17, the Kentucky Environmental Quality Commission will sponsor a public forum and workshop on children's environmental health issues in Kentucky.
