On April 18, the Environmental Quality Commission will hold its annual Earth Day celebration honoring ten Kentuckians for their commitment to the environment. House Majority Floor Leader Greg Stumbo will keynote the ceremony, which will be held from 1-3 p.m. at the Berry Hill Mansion in Frankfort. The agenda is attached.
The EQC will also give a posthumous Lifetime Service Award to Janie Douglass in recognition of her many years of work in environmental education and advocacy. Additionally a tree will be planted in her memory, and a series of environmental books will be given to a school chosen by her family to receive the books in her memory. The EQC extends an invitation to each of you to attend this 31st anniversary of Earth Day.
